What is a SoL community?
A set of individuals and institutions aiming to connect with their deepest aspirations so as to facilitate collaboration for systemic change and social well-being. We believe that this is only achieved through ways of being with one another based on trust, openness, imagination, genuine caring and collective intelligence that enables us to see the larger systems we are creating and continually evolve these systems in line with our highest aspirations. SoL guiding principles
All human being is born with innate, lifelong desire and ability to learn, which should be enhanced by all organizations.
People learn best from and with one another, and participation in learning communities is vital to their effectiveness, well-being and happiness in any work setting. Where learning activities are co-created by participants, training activities are curated by the SoL communities who have the interests of the learners in mind.
The capacities and accomplishments of organizations are inseparable from, and dependent on, the capacities of the learning communities, which they foster.
It is essential that all organizations and networks of organizations evolve to be in greater harmony with human nature and with the natural world.
Sustained high performance in any social system comes through creating high levels of social well-being.
Learning communities that connect multiple organizations and link across cultural and generational boundaries can significantly enhance their capacity for profound systemic change.
Organizations must develop individual and collective capabilities to sense emerging realities; understand complex, interdependent issues; engage in reflective, generative conversation; nurture personal and shared aspirations; and learn through conscious experimentation and correction.
All learning is manifest in action and results, and we aim to achieve practical, on-the-ground innovations for healthier social and ecosystems.
Each SoL community follows its particular business model, provided it is built upon financial, governance and membership transparency. In order to ensure SoL name, logo and brand are exclusively used to build learning communities, and to ensure the operation does not become a profit business, each SOL Community is committed to share detailed information every year about the revenue they obtain from membership fee contribution and SoL activities as well as the expenses allocated.
